The Southport Packet

In 1987 the Southport Conservancy launched The Packet to share with its residents the rich and varied history of Southport Village. For twenty-four years The Packet has captivated it’s readers with eye-witness accounts of the often colorful and dramatic events involving Southport’s people and places. These two volumes are a must have for anyone living in Southport, or anyone interested in Southport History. Our books are available at Fairfield Women's Exchange and Lattice House - both on Pequot Avenue in Southport Village, William Pitt Sotheby's on Harbor Road, and Fairfield Museum.

The Southport Packet is also available for sale at Fairfield Museum Gift Shop, Fairfield Women’s Exchange, and Lattice House, in Southport Village.

A historic walking tour has taken on a decidedly modern edge.

The self-guided walking tour of the Southport section, created over 20 years ago on cassette tape, is now available as a free app from iTunes for smartphones. Created by the Southport Conservancy and the Sasquanaug Association, the walking tour remains exactly the same as when first recorded by the late Jason Robards, the award-winning actor who called Southport home.
